Magician and Mentalist in Miami: From Grand Cayman to the U.S. Stage

22 May 2026

Seven Mile Beach is a hard place to leave.
Especially when life there is already working.

The beaches, the people, the jerk chicken — it’s hard to complain when your office view looks like a postcard. The sunsets over the ocean were unreal and there was always time for a couple pints with friends after work.

I’ll always be grateful to the Cayman Islands because the people there were the first to really open doors for me professionally. It’s where I began building my career as a magician and mentalist.

I still remember getting my first residency at Kimpton Seafire Resort + Spa. From there came opportunities at The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort & Spa, The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman, and eventually Wyndham Reef Resort where I headlined my magic and mentalism show every week for over a year and a half.

For a while, life felt pretty incredible.

But deep down, there was still a feeling that I had more I wanted to accomplish.

Cayman gave me incredible opportunities and helped shape me as a performer, but I had always dreamed of touring across the United States, performing larger events, stepping into theatres, and continuing to challenge myself creatively.

Around the same time, my now fiancée was living and working in Miami which made the decision feel a little less crazy.

The other realization was that comfort can quietly become a ceiling if you’re not careful.

So we took a chance and moved to Miami.

Part of me thought, “I already rebuilt myself once, Miami should be easier.”

Yeah… not exactly.

Going from an island with around 100,000 people to a city that feels like it has 100,000 people every five blocks was definitely an adjustment.

Miami moves differently.

Different energy.
Different pace.
Different people.

There were moments of excitement but also moments of rebuilding from scratch, making new connections, adapting, hustling, figuring out where I fit, and learning that starting over as an adult is both exciting and very, very humbling.

But looking back now, I’m proud of what we’ve managed to build already.

We debuted our theatre show in North Carolina.
We performed incredible corporate events.
I got the chance to perform in New York, which had always been a dream of mine.
At one event, we even met a princess from Jordan.

Still not sure how that became a normal sentence in my life.

And while I miss Cayman from time to time, it’s only an hour away and the islands will always feel like a second home to me.

But little by little, Miami is starting to feel like home too.

And honestly, I’m looking forward to what comes next.
